CHRISTA CORNELIA RICARD (nee REIMER) Peacefully, after a hard fought battle with cancer, Christa passed away with family at her side at the Health Sciences Centre on April 17, 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years Robert; their two children, Jaae, Cindy (Darrick) two grandchildren, Sheehan and Bret; parents, Cornelius and Erika; brothers, Sig and Gatch; sisters, Mingi, Gela (Leo), Manna (Joe), Margaret (Tim) and Lisa (Drew) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and many dear friends. Christa was born October 25, 1946 in Pirna, Germany, then immigrated with her family to Winnipeg in 1948. She grew up and lived in the North End, married Robert and moved to Edmonton in 1974. Christa, her husband and children returned to Winnipeg in 1982. Shortly thereafter she was employed with Jeannes Bakery, where she worked for over 20 years. Christa enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was a sports fan who enjoyed watching hockey and football. Her favourite teams were the Edmonton Oilers and the Edmonton Eskimos. She was also a big fan of wrestling. The family would like to greatly thank the doctors and nurses of GH4 at the Health Sciences Centre, everyone at CancerCare Manitoba, and Dr. D. Miller for their kindness, care, and support. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Flowers are gratefully declined, family and friends wishing to do so, may make a donation in Christas memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
